Today’s generation of children aged 7 to 12 spend less time playing outside than any other, it claims.
Research from 2012 suggests that time spent playing outdoors has halved in a generation, with just one in ten children able to regularly play in wild places.
The objective with this campaign is to ensure that every child in the UK develops a “personal connection with nature” by the age of 12.
A bucket list of 50 outdoor activities has been drawn up, from which children will be encouraged to get their hands dirty trying out anything from snail racing to rolling down a hill.
