International Play Conference in Glasgow!

The International Play Association Conference will be held in Glasgow from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th June 2023.

The 22nd IPA Triennial World Conference is coming to Glasgow!

The International Play Association is happy to announce that the conference will be held from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th June 2023 at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Play Scotland is delighted to be on the steering group for delivering the conference and chairing the subgroup for Children & Young People’s participation.

The theme of the conference next year is Play: Rights & Responsibilities.

The sub-themes of the conference are:

  • Play and the realisation of other rights
  • Play and the creation of environments
  • Play and the quality of childhood
  • Play and children’s entitlement to optimum development
  • Play and resilience

There are a number of ways to get involved in the conference. We will be looking for submissions to present from academics and practitioners. There are stalls and exhibiting spaces as well as space for adverts in printed materials.

The conference will be held over 4 days, with the Friday being a Field Day where delegates will be visiting local play spaces and projects.
