It is vital that the voice of children and young people is heard as part of the consultation for Open Space Strategies and Play Sufficiency Assessments.
Together with A Place in Childhood, we are working to make this as simple as possible for you and the children and young people you work with.
How can I have my say?
There are three ways to respond to the consultation:
1. Through the Government Portal
Anyone in Scotland can respond to the consultation through the government website. This method is best suited for adults and organisations.
It is open between now and 31st March 2022 and can be found here.
2. Group response from children and young people
If you work with a group of children and young people, within or outwith education, you can run a facilitated session in order to send a group response to the consultation.
You can do this online or in person.
We have created consultation packs to help you run these sessions. If you would like a consultation pack to use with your group, please contact info@playscotland.org and we will supply you with a group link specific to you as well as with support on engaging with children on the guidance.
We want to gather feedback from a wide range of children and young people representative of those from different age groups, backgrounds, and areas. To do this we are providing additional support to groups working with children and young people with additional support needs, and those who are refugees/asylum seekers, LGBTQ, BAME, and young carers. If you work with one of these groups then please contact info@playscotland.org and we will work with you to ensure you are supported through the process.
3. Individual responses by Children and young people
If you are a parent or carer, or you work with a small number of children and young people can support them to submit their views independently online, by using the child-friendly version of the consultation here.
